I’ve had a few cards returned with a very aggressive marking on them indicating that the intended recipient is NOT there at the address. Each time this has been a card from a request I’ve answered from a user on behalf of a family member or friend. It’s possible that people move but due to the angry messaging on a few of the envelopes I’m starting to get worried that some are using the card requests to spam people’s mailboxes with cards without their consent. I know this isn’t allowed.
I was wondering how the mods are verifying such requests? Is it an honor system? Is there a process that people do before they request on behalf of others?
I really don’t like the thought of goodwill being misused this way but there’s not much I can do except take my cards back when they get returned and not send them again. It’s honestly a little discouraging and makes me hesitant to accept request like that at all.
