I did it. I managed to get all of my Christmas/holiday cards sent out!
This was a huge step for me. Currently, I’m battling a rather horrendous bout of major depressive disorder, and getting out of bed is a Sisyphean feat. Not only have I managed to send over twenty cards, but I also made it through my garbage fire of a semester with what I think are all A’s.
Sometimes, something as simple as writing a holiday card to a friend carries such a significant weight. To my friends who receive a card from me, know that they are filled with love and perseverance. I’m proud of myself for making it through and not giving up on life. Truly, cards can be a cathartic act of strength.
And to my pals who struggle with unseen illnesses who manage to still send out their cards: Go you. You’re so strong, and I know this community is proud of you.
Have any of you felt the same joy of getting your cards out? Any big achievements lately in your carding hobby? Please feel free to share!
And thank you for listening to my congratulatory rambles.
