Is dissatisfaction normal?

Post Body

I’ve had my rats for about 6 weeks now. They are about 14 weeks old. Progress has been made but, 2/3 of them crawled on my arm in the last week and before I could stand up and prevent them from jumping off, they did just that. I waited for them to return to my hand or to a box so I could bring them to their cage but eventually I had to just grab them and bring them back. Now I feel like I undid a whole chunk of progress and they don’t even take from my hand anymore.

I’m starting to worry if maybe rats aren’t the right pet for me. I’ve done all the research into giving them a good home, I take care of their food and cleanings but I just am. afraid they might not ever want anything to do with me. And because of that, I’m feeling kind of dissatisfied and upset with them as pets. Is this normal? Should I give it some more time?
