I came home from work today and one of my rats seems to have had the runs all over the place, I know which one it was because his arse was still covered in it. The poo was a lighter brown colour than their normal hard craps. They eat lab blocks and reggies crunchers so I doubt food caused him to do this.

Over the last few weeks he's been reluctant to take his treats and has lost a bit of weight, although not enough to concern me until now. I'm going to try and get him to the vet tomorrow.

The other question I have is about wooden objects in their cage, ladders and those logs-on-a-stick things that you can bend into whatever shape you want. Can wooden things be cleaned? What's the best way to clean them?

Edit: The vet gave him antibiotics and the ladders have dried out nice and clean but the hut has to go in the bin.
