When I was a kid, we had a rat named Wilbur who loved to run around on the bed. One day, my mom had made a sandwich and was going to eat it while Wilbur explored the blankets. She sat her plate down for just one second, and when she turned back, Wilbur had taken the ENTIRE sandwich and was eating it in the corner of the bed.
What a rascal. What is your naughtiest rat story?
A few months ago, we ended up adopting a pregnant rat because there was no way this sweet girl was having babies in a pet store on our watch.
While she was nursing, she ate SO much food! We were constantly giving her food, but we kept it limited to healthy, protein-rich stuff. She apparently wasn't happy with the lack of sugary snacks.
One night while she was having free-roam time / a break from the babies, she located my stash of Chips Ahoy on a nearby table and scarpered with a whole cookie before we could stop her. We let her snack on a bit of it; we figured she deserved it after pulling off that heist.
