Still don’t like to be touched

Post Body

I recently bought 2 female Rexes around three or so weeks ago, both are still young at about 13 or 14 weeks old but no matter what I do they still dislike being held or petted (unless they’re sleepy)

I was originally thinking it could be because of trust but they actively come close to me if I go near their cage and if I open the door they’ll walk right up to me. They’re both so lovely, one being extremely out going while the other is far more reclusive but still as gentle as anything.

I don’t want to break any trust I have with them but I’d love to be able to hold them and have them be more comfortable with me touching them.

Note: I’m not so much a first time Rat owner but it’s the first time I’ve had rats this young and the last rats I had were about five years ago when I was still a teenager
