First time rat owner here. I just adopted two female rats last Sunday. They were very cuddly with me on the day that I adopted them and I’ve put a lot of cute little things in their enclosure, including a hammock, a litter box, of course a food bowl and water and a hide. Every time I come home or open their enclosure and they’re out and about they run right back into their little basket. I saw somewhere that the best way to get them used to you is constant gentle contact and giving them treats. I haven’t been able to have contact with them, because they always run and hide when I approach. Should I take the hide out of their enclosure to get them better used to me?
