A while ago I made a post here called something like "how am I doing" basically asking if I was starting out with my rat, Morpeko, okay. I got some friendly advice which I really appreciated, but I ended up deleting the post since some people started calling me an animal abuser over not being able to get the proper stuff right away. I mentioned in that post that I grew up with actual animal abusers, so it hurt being called that, but the users didn't seem to care.

But to the people that did try to help me instead of just hurdling insults at me, thank you! I was able to get him a bigger cage (will be donating the tank), proper food, and we plan on getting his roommate this weekend after we set up the cage. (we have to move some stuff around to make room)

As for Morpeko, I can tell he's a little bit lonely. He'll lay outside his little house every now and then with his head resting on his paws and won't really do much. But most of the time he's either digging in his bedding (flooding his water bowl), sleeping, or standing up against the glass to stare at the cat. I can tell he wants someone to interact with other than just me and my roommate, so we're happy we plan to get him his own roommate in the next day or two! (Also question, does the cage seem big enough for three rats? I'm not sure if two rats are better than three or vice versa haha)

Today as I was changing his food and giving him a treat, he let me hold the treat up to his mouth this time without running away and gathering it later. I felt his teeth brush against my finger and felt him sniff me for a little bit before he took it. We've had him for about 1/2 weeks, so of course he's been a bit shy, so this is the first time he didn't run away from me when I gave him a treat! Something simple, but it made me happy knowing that he's starting to get used to me :>

Anyway yeah, just a small update
