Just turned 50 a few days ago, which I hear comes with a special invisibility cloak.
Over the years, following a difficult divorce, I have worked hard to build a sustaining soltitude for myself; still, there are moments where I wonder what might still be possible in terms of a partnership.
My experience is that the virtual world has made interactions even more transient than they used to be; few people seem to be willing to make the effort at communication needed to actually get to know someone. It's hard not to feel like you are just someone's dairly internet distraction. People often ask for something real -- but then don't seem to be willing invest the things necessary to make something real; or actually run when things become ... too real.
Really just sharing melancholy reflections and won't leave this up for long; but if something resonates with you, and you might feel inclined to start a conversation, please feel free to reach out. Local preferred.
Me: wm, tall, in shape, educated, introverted, passion for reading and writing, work in teaching.
