It's no secret that making friends as an adult is fucking hard. I sincerely believe that it shouldn't be. As kids we can easily let our guards down and open ourselves up to trusting others. Now as adults we've been hurt by letting our guards down making trust very hard to develop and very fragile once it's formed.
So here's the deal. I would LOVE to have some new friends in my life and to beat this trend. If you think that we might vibe, feel free to drop me a chat. Here's some info about me and what/who I'm looking for:
I am a dad of 2 kids, married, a veteran, and currently live in VA, USA. I work in IT, listen to all kinds of music but mostly metal, and have a billion and 1 hobbies. Most recently has been paracord crafting and 3d printing. I love gaming when I can get some free time but that's pretty rare. Maybe once or twice a week nowadays.
My wife and I have been living together but separated for about a year now. I made some huge mistakes over the years that we were together. It wasn't until this last few years that things slowed down long enough that I could think about myself. At that point I started therapy and have been putting in the work to turn myself around.
Now, I've realized that I'm bi, that masculine culture is probably one of the largest contributors to my issues, and that there are VERY few men who have come to this realization themselves. I feel like too many guys just don't get it and the male support groups I've tried are all just echo chambers. It seems like it's just toxic dudes backing up the other toxic dudes and no one wants to hear a different point of view. I was told I think like a woman, even. Lol.
So here's my point. I'm on a path of self improvement. I want to be and do better. And the places I have found myself have been very counter-productive to that end. I want to surround myself by the right kinds of people for my own personal growth. But also, just kinda want someone I can chat the boring parts of the day away with
If you made it this far thanks for reading!! Hope to hear from you!
