Hey, all. Been a while.

I’m in a much better place than I have been for about the past 6 months so I thought I’d toss out a line and see if anyone bites.

I’m 45, female, single, no kids, one cat, and I live in Washington, DC. I think the most relevant thing about me at the moment is that I work for the environmentalists and am job hunting to transition out of the nonprofits. I’ve applied to 6 jobs in the past week and am dropping another 3 applications out tomorrow morning once it’s a reasonable hour.

Another relevant topic for me is that I’m 420-friendly in a big way.

I’m looking for a relationship, one that’s going to last for decades until we retire in a fashion that we both find amenable. I’m not in a rush, though, I’m okay if I don’t find this until I’m 60. I’m casting a wide net, particularly here, as I believe this is where my target audience lives.

What am I looking for in a person? Well, not someone whose intent is to drag me out camping or hiking or kayaking. Someone who is more like me, who prefers the comforts of a home computer setup to traipsing around the world.

I like tech geeks but I’m open to listening to you nerd out about any topic you’d like. Sometimes, all I want is for someone to listen to what I want to gush about, nod in appropriate places, give me a hug and say thanks for sharing. I’m happy to do that for someone else.

One thing: I’ve never really had a relationship. Someone asked me tonight how many times I’ve been in love and the answer is I can count it on less than one hand. The truth is, I just wasn’t interested in having a relationship in my 20s or 30s. I am now, though.

So! That’s me and a couple of things I’m looking for. Any takers? I’d prefer private messages but will go through the reddit chat at some point if you don’t mind waiting.
