I'm tall and bearded. I'm not a slender man, but I'm great for warmth in the cold weather.

I'm not religious, but I only disdain the most extreme religious sects. I appreciate the comfort of belonging to a religious community.

I'm a left leaning liberal (I recently registered as a member of the American Worker's Party). I'm don't take kindly to bigots. I'm LGBT friendly and while I'm almost exclusively femme attracted, I do not exclude non-cis femme persons as potential friends and partners.

My core values are kindness, empathy, love, and respect. I am patient and forgiving. I prefer to avoid the company of people who are unkind, disrespectful, or vengeful.

Besides the things listed in my title, I'm an avid podcast consumer. I watch lots of science and math related YouTube. I love to solve puzzles and complete several of the NYT puzzles before getting out of bed. I'm a pretty mediocre guitar player, but I compensate for it by being an above average vocalist. I enjoy the performing arts, especially musical theater. I've been listening to a lot of science fiction, horror, and suspense audiobooks lately. Cixin Liu, Dean Koontz, Ursula K. Guin, Stephen King, Neal Stephenson. I really love short stories and hope to write some someday. I write a few essays every year, usually borne of anger at some injustice.

It is not, however, that important to me that we share the same hobbies and interests. In my experience, each partner will grow to share some of the other's interests over time. But, if you're curious about some of my favorite things, please ask! I'm generally curious and like to learn about a wide variety of topics.

I live in a very remote rural area. Probably not within 2 hours of anywhere anyone from outside of Louisiana has even heard of before. I'd love to meet someone in state, but the chances of coming across anyone who's actually local for me are pretty slim. So, I'm happy to get to know you without regard for your location.

In the short term, I'm looking for someone I can: text regularly, voice or video call with some frequency, and spend time with virtually. Ultimately, I want a companion I can enjoy spending time with. I want someone that I can go grocery shopping with. I want to travel to new and old places. I want someone to be silly with even though I'm perhaps past the age where silliness is encouraged.

I've been celibate for 3 and a half years, and I'm not looking to jump right into bed with anyone. But my sex drive is still with me and I very much crave touch and intimacy.

I have my acquired my share of baggage. I'm on the other side of a truly magnificent midlife crisis. I'm still focusing on my mental health and figuring out exactly what comes next for me. I'm looking to relocate sometime within the next two years, probably to somewhere more progressive. I'm child free and ambivalent to the idea of having children of my own.
