Alright, Iāve hit 41 and realized Iāve been having deeper conversations with my houseplants than actual people. Donāt get me wrongātheyāre great listeners, but their feedback is... lacking. I got divorced in Feb 2020 (fantastic timing, thanks, universe), so naturally, I became a hermit just as the world decided to shut down. From life of the party to chief officer of couch-bound Netflix marathonsāIāve seen both extremes.
Located in the SF Bay Area with a decent gig in the music industry, I own my own home and live comfortably, but no Scrooge McDuck money vaults here.
Since COVID, Iāve somehow picked up a couple of good habits. I now read a book a month like some kind of self-improvement guru (favorites include Hitchhikerās Guide to the Galaxy, Four Thousand Weeks, and also everything by Malcolm Gladwell).
Fitness has been another habit I somehow picked up in my late 30's. A fair amount of weights and cardio but hauling myself on 10 mile hikes every weekend too because nature is free therapy. I've somehow kept off 50lbs with better mental health to match. However unlikely, its looking like I hit my stride in my 40's.
That doesn't mean I don't love to eat. I know my way around the kitchen, from fancy omelettes to homemade pizza and pasta. Hard to do for 1 sometimes :). Wish I had less cuts from errant knife slices too!
What Iām looking for: cool new humans to chat with. Iām open to any topicāfrom pop culture to pondering lifeās mysteries, or debating which kitchen utensil would win in a fight. Will this stay āonline onlyā? Maybe. Or maybe the universe will surprise us?
DM if you like irreverent, sometimes witty banter, deep convos, or just need someone to validate your latest weird thought.
