I am a 38 year old man living in New York (Long Island) seeking someone who is truly searching for a meaningful connection. I have never been married, and do not have kids.

I like to think I am a conversationalist, a good listener, adaptable, polite, respectful, thoughtful, considerate, affectionate, someone who remembers what people say, someone with a great sense of humor, and someone who values kindness. Often it seems these aren’t traits which are considered important to others, but surely some out there still value these traits in a man.

I am not without my flaws. I have no desire to mislead anyone, and in honest transparency, will say the following. I have damage to my facial nerve, which results in some facial paralysis on one side of my face. This of course affects my appearance and the symmetry of my face. I also do not live alone. I am with my elderly mom. This is not a case of me being a bum, as I have a successful career in a great industry, but it’s more of a case of not wanting to leave my mom by herself, and wanting to help her how I can. This will not affect my ability to do normal things like go out, spend time with you, etc. However, I understand if this is something that you would not be able to get past.

If you have made it this far, I will say that I have no desire to put forward a list of demands that anyone reading this post must have should you have an interest in replying. The one and only thing I will ask is that you are single. That you are not married/divorced/separated. That’s all. It’s definitely fine if you have kids. I won’t list specific body types, ethnicities, heights, weights, ages, etc. You can be tall or short, older or younger, slim or overweight, and any ethnicity. What is far most important is your personality. Your desire for a real connection. Your desire for to find that conversation that you think about throughout the day. Your desire to want to share honesty and openness together. Your desire to know the other person is thinking about you. Your ability to be real with someone else.
