I haven’t dated in a while and for the most part, I’ve become quite good at being single. But lately, I’ve realized there’s still a part of me that wants to share life with someone. From simple, everyday things like choosing what fish to get for dinner, to bigger moments like finally saying goodbye to that Tweety Bird tattoo you got at 19. I want to exchange a knowing glance with someone across the room, knowing we’ve got each other’s backs.
I miss building—building a life with someone who sees me for who I truly am, not as a fantasy they’ve constructed in their head. I long for someone who appreciates me, who is sturdy enough to understand that life won’t always be perfect but we can work through it together.
I used to think I’d meet my person at a library, but lately, the only people I see there are homeless—and no offense to them, but they don’t exactly seem like they want to be interrupted. Though clearly a romantic, I’m also sensible enough to want a relationship that’s sustainable. More than grand gestures, I long to find a loving partner to come home to.
Ideally, that’s someone who:
- Wants to build a peaceful life together, focused on learning, exploring, being present, and appreciating life’s beauty
- Has a great sense of humor and can create an endless secret joke library with me
- Has a good heart, with integrity and sincerity in his words and actions
- Maintains good hygiene, doesn’t smoke and smells clean without dousing himself in Dior
- Is affectionate (snuggling and cuddling are non-negotiable)
- Loves good food and would enjoy my kitchen experiments
I have a weakness for a good baritone voice and strong hands, but if your personality is stellar and we have undeniable chemistry, those might not matter too much.
I have an international background and frequently travel between the US and Europe (and Asia, too), so location isn’t a big deal. I’m child-free, but great with kids, so I wouldn’t mind if you have one—provided things are uncomplicated with the mother and you’re a responsible father.
