Hey, my name is Dan. It’s been awhile since I’ve made a post on reddit but I’m feeling the loneliness tonight and decided, “Hey, why not?” 

I’ve been divorced for over 4 years and I have gotten better about being ok with just being by myself all the time. I do enjoy my personal freedom and always having my quite time but damn do I really miss having someone to share my life with. Towards the end of my last relationship I realized what I was missing the most from it was a better physical connection. Not sex but closeness, holding hands, hugs and cuddling. My ex didn’t enjoy that for some reason and by the time I was realizing this she bailed on the relationship in general. shrug 

I have tried dating apps on multiple occasions and have never had more than a couple of conversations. I’m sure that one of the issues for me is I live in the middle of nowhere and the dating pool isn’t that big and I am also not interested in dating a single mother. There is nothing wrong with them but I am not interested in investing time in someone and their children at the same time as I want to build a relationship with just one person not multiple. I fully understand that this hinders me in finding someone but it’s my biggest non-negotiable.  

I am looking to maybe find someone I can be friends with that leads to something more. I’m not interested in anything that just leads to sex, I want something deeper and longer lasting. I’m can’t do long distance relationships as it’s just not for me considering I’m hoping in the long term it’s something where we could hang out often. Anything more than an hour and a half away is a bit too much. 

I am mostly a homebody but I do go out and do things. I spend my downtime playing video games, watching movies and shows. I thoroughly enjoy what I do in my free time. I also enjoy cooking and trying new recipes I find, going out and trying new foods, and taking walks and enjoying nature. I am interested in traveling and am planning a trip for next year currently.

I am 6’ 1”, have a bit of a belly but I’m not grotesque. I am watching more of what I eat lately and recently bought some bar bells and trying to stay in better shape and health. 

I am sure there is more I could say here about myself but I’d love to talk to you and discuss whatever you would like to know. I love to chat and am a pretty good conversationalist and will always try to keep things going.
