I’ve been really bored lately, mostly on weekends. I go out and do stuff all the time, but it feels more like a chore at this point than actual fun. I gave up on the dating apps because I wasn’t getting the right kind of attention, and figured I might have a bit more luck with a different pool of people. But I’m not a gamer or a nerd, don’t do social media or other chat apps, and apparently don’t reply fast enough for some people. Exchanging a few messages here and there usually doesn’t do much for me anyway. I miss the element of true human connection. So that’s my dilemma.
I’m 41 but usually am told that I look much younger. I have a bachelors, masters, plus a degree in sarcasm. I work from home which I fear has made me even more of an introvert (INFJ). Aside from that, I’m pretty normal. I like all the typical stuff—watching tv/movies (although I don’t have many favorites), cooking (although I rarely make a recipe twice), being outside when the weather is nice (although I’m more indoorsy otherwise), and traveling (although I’m super content being at home too). I’ve recently gotten into some DIY crafts, and it’s been very gratifying seeing my vision come to life. I like good food, good drinks, and am looking to add good company to the mix again.
I’m looking for someone close to my age and close to my location with similar priorities. I’m smart, work regular hours, never married, no kids, and have the time and space in my life for a partner and much more. If you work 80 hours a week or consider your job your passion, I’m probably not the person for you. For what it’s worth, I’m black and slightly curvy. I’m much more attracted to intelligence and humor than race and body type and hope you are too.
If you made it this far and decide you’d like to start a conversation, please be sure to include your age and location. Please save me from another boring weekend!
