A curious and compassionate intellectual. An incessant scholar with a blue collar upbringing and a white collar career. A sometimes storyteller, sometimes counselor, and sometimes teacher. Quiet, reserved, and intense are words that other people use to describe me. They're probably right, but it is also true that I'm a hopeless romantic with a well-developed, sardonic sense of humor. I listen with the intent to understand, but will openly challenge behaviors or thinking that I consider to be destructive or ineffective. I am self-disciplined, empathetic, understanding, and patient, but firm. I avoid crowds and crave intimacy.

I am genuinely single, very highly educated, progressive, and a non-smoker. I love dogs and am mildly allergic to cats. I have one adult child, but am unable to have more than that now. Pros of dating me are that I'm a good cook and have a great voice. I will validate your feelings without trying to solve all your problems. Cons are that I can't dance and battle social anxiety at times. I can be demanding of affection.
