Hello, I'm easygoing, 6'1, trim build, fully retired and financially comfortable. I'm fortunate to enjoy very good health with no meds, chronic conditions, all my hair and teeth - so far! lol!. Me mnetal health is good, I think? No, wait. Hmmmm? You tell me!
.
I grew up on a farm with deep Southern roots, but left at 17 and never looked back. Not too unlike Navin Johnson in some ways, I suppose.😄 I'm pretty familiar with cows, horses, chickens, etc and pretty good with most animals, I think. Hitchhiked around for a little bit then somehow found myself in the Army for four years. Followed that up with a little bit of college and a kind of interesting civilian career I fell into that moved me around the States some from east to west then back again. Played my career, financial, and life cards mostly right enabling me to retire at a relatively young age. Had a few gigs since I retired, but nothing that really captured me enough to stay with. Still a lot of country-boy in me, but I clean up good 😁
I have one bright and beautiful daughter who is happily married and is the center of my world.
I enjoy boating , scuba diving, riding my motorcycle (pretty-day slow cruises only) motorcycle rallies, live music, hiking, camping and kayaking (river, bay, & ocean) I like shark-fishing from the beach once-in-awhile, which is an all night affair. Catch, photo, and safe release only. I do other fishing as well, but I'm not obsessed with it ... it's more about just having a great day out on the water for me. I don't hunt, though I did some when I was a teen.
I'm a bit of a history buff & a music lover. I like to have a lot of music in my life. I enjoy playing sports sometimes but not really into watching them on television except some of the Olympics. A live game can be fun to go to once in awhile, but I'd rather see a minor league or high school team with a smaller crowd than college or pros.
I only watch movies & documentaries streaming - no cable, and . My politics are pragmatic and moderate ... I like to say I'm a "conservaliberalitarian" - moderate, pragmatic, no party and Never-Trump. I'm not a "culture warrior" by any means. Live & let live. I get my information about happenings in the world from the internet where I can read different perspectives and fact-check.
Religion? I don't really "do" religion. I don't mind if you do, though. Not that I have never studied the subject and don't ever think about this life, how to live in it, or what might be in the next, if any. Call me "spiritual", if you like. I don't mind talking about it if you want, so long as you're not trying to proselytize me.
I checked "no" to alcohol because it's not often I do imbibe anymore, but I will still go for a glass of wine or a good Stout beer on certain occasions. I'm good with some 420 vape or gummies once in awhile, but from legal, regulated, shops in legal States only, for reason of health, safety, and ethics. I'm an ex-tobacco user and struggled a long time with my old frenemy nicotine, so I try to avoid people and situations that could be a trigger. If/when I do lapse, it's with a small cigar and outdoors. I try to eat as healthy as possible with a focus on whole, un-, or minimally processed foods as much as possible at home. I eat what I want when I go out though. Morning coffee is a must have, french pressed usually, and you might not want to talk to me till my first cup is poured 😄. I don't work out at the gym regularly though I have in the past ( I've been getting the urge lately to join up again & maybe buff up a bit) I do keep pretty fit at home and through my daily activities as I'm a pretty physically active person. Maintaining good personal hygiene is also important to me.
I'm pretty experienced at most things DIY, handy with most hand and power tools. I'm a fair shade-tree mechanic but cars are getting more complicated and computerized nowadays and it's hard to keep up with that, so I don't tinker with them as much as I have in the past. I like to fix things that are broken and make old things like new again.
I've lived a number of places in the US, but not traveled much internationally. I am now at a place in life that I'm looking forward to quite a bit of travel though. Have passport & ready to go - England/Scotland is first on my list. (because of the history ... not the food lol!)
I have been a widower for a little over a year after 33 years married. You'll want to know, so - yes, it was cancer. And it was a 12 year journey So I now find myself beginning a new chapter in life it seems and hoping to find one someone to share and write it with. We don't have to be the same in all respects, but complementary is good and "Vive la difference!"
I am looking for someone with long-term intent. Someone who cares about a healthy active lifestyle. A little bit of active adventurer but a little bit of homebody as well. You should not be afraid to go for a nice slow pretty-day cruise on the back of a motorcycle though. lol! Someone who is financially independent and has a good degree of freedom to travel. Other than that .... I suppose I'm open to being surprised at what might capture me about you. Whatcha got?😄😁 I would consider meeting someone non-local under the right circumstances, as I have a certain amount of freedom to travel when I want. But I would expect the other person would also have to have some degree of that as well. (btw ... sorry, but I'm not personally attracted to overweight people. I kind of hate the fact I have to mention that, but it's better to be upfront, I think)
So now you have my "resume" nd the only way to see how/what I'm like in person and how I might perform on the job is to give me a whirl - and vice versa 😄 I'm a pretty traditional sort of guy in a lot of ways, but I won't think you're desperate or some kind of sure-thing if you wanna send me a message. 🤗 (C'mon ... give me a break. I'm pretty new at this - I did learn how to use emojis though 😄)
(my personality type, btw, tests as INFP-A and I'm a Libra ... if that means anything really? I dunno. What do you think?)
