Hello internet! Thanks for checking out my post, I'm Scott, nice to hopefully meet ya! :)
Long story short (or knowing me, still long), I moved here to Colorado from Michigan without knowing a soul just a few months before COVID took off, which as you may have guessed has made for a rather challenging social scene. Now that the world's (mostly) back to normal and while we've all started to collectively creep back out of our ketchup-stained sweatpants, I figure it's the perfect time to spruce up the 'ol social life and meet some awesome new people! Specifically, I'm looking for local friends, meaning that you live in Colorado, preferably near Denver so we can actually hang out once we feel like it. Pretty edgy stuff, I know...
So, who's this crazy internet weirdo? Well...
- I'm 34 and single with no kids, though I do have an absolute gem of an American Eskimo pup named Max.
- I'm extroverted in that being with people tends to recharge my batteries, regardless of whether that's a night on the town, or a quiet night at home.
- I do my best to be accepting and kind, and I enjoy supporting my friends when I can!
- I enjoy all the usual nerdy stuff: books, tv, movies, theater, tech, learning just about anything; but I also like to branch out with things like cooking, woodworking, hiking, all sorts of stuff.
- I work remotely full time doing software development, which lends to a pretty flexible life. (We're nearing terminal nerdiness, aren't we?)
- I've got some mental health issues, but who makes it to 35 without 'em? Therapy rocks, talk psychology and self-care to me, baby!
- I'm an atheist and a firm believer in science, but I enjoy learning about the perspectives spirituality can provide.
- I'm fairly liberal/progressive, the MAGA crowd need not apply.
- I'm vaxxed and boosted, and so should you be!
Sound interesting? If so, why not hit me up and maybe we can try one of the following:
Hiking
Cliché as it is, I've really taken to the hobby since I moving here to Colorado, but I've somehow failed to find a friend I can drag out to the trailhead yet! I try to get out for a hike every weekend (weather and schedule allowing), and I'd classify myself an intermediate hiker - I haven't tackled my first fourteener yet, but I regularly do hikes 10 miles long and with 2000 ft elevation gain, so hopefully I can keep up!
Other adventures
Do you like camping? Skiing? Rafting? Road trips to national parks? Let's get out there and have some adventures together! Maybe there's an art festival going on you want to visit? Or maybe a food truck rally you saw an ad for? How about we finally check out that brewery or bar you've had your eye on for months? If you need a reason to get out and have some fun, look no further!
D&D and Board Games
Since moving away from my old social group, I've really been missing my old D&D group and our board game nights, and I'd really love to find a new group to play with! My D&D playstyle tends more towards the more creative and roleplaying aspects, so I might not be the best fit for some pure hack-n-slash groups, but I do my best to gel with the party! In terms of board games, I enjoy all the usual suspects (Catan, Pandemic, Betrayal at House on the Hill, etc.), and I'm always happy to learn something new, too!
Getting baked
Going on adventures and learning complicated games not your style? How about we kick back with some edibles or a dab and laugh our asses off reliving the glory days of Vine? (I could really go for some free shavocado, hbu?) Maybe kicking back to some Steve Miller Band or Pink Floyd is more your style? Or how about pondering the mysteries of the universe?
Gaming
Like most nerds out there, I grew up playing video games and still enjoy 'em! These days I do almost all of my gaming on PC, but I've also got a Switch and would love to have a good reason to pick up a Playstation! I'm not a very competitive person, but while I'm not the tryhard you want for your next Rainbow 6 tournament, I absolutely love co-op and team play! Some of my recent favorites have been Factorio, Borderlands, Phasophobia, Warzone, Minecraft, Overcooked, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes - all sorts of stuff, really!
Finally, as a thank-you to anyone who's read this far, here's a few pictures of me so you know who you're talking to - Hope to hear from you!
