Hello Reddit,

Please forgive the quality of this post. I'm a bit nervous. Yes, I realize it's the Internet but I still care about presenting myself well.

My name is Laurie. I’m originally from the South Bay but moved to San Diego, California recently. I’m a college grad looking for people to talk to and have fun chats with. I don’t care about location if you don’t. Outside of the U.S. would also be awesome. I am a shy but super friendly human being. I'm pansexual which means I love hearts, not parts. It's close to being bisexual but it's not. Me saying this doesn't equate to sex. I'm just Proud of who I am. If that's a problem we will agree to disagree and move on.

Once you get to know me I open. I work with kids who have autism and I don’t think I’d have it any other way. It's HARD but someone who loves it has to do it. I am also learning to improve my American Sign Language skills so I can grow in my career and as an individual.

I am super sarcastic and I love to laugh. There’s nothing better than being able to crack inside jokes or just have fun with life. Let’s face it none of us are getting out of this alive. I love and live for music, so much so that I see colors when I listen. I am open to any type of music seeing as I grew up listening to everything from Dolly Parton to Snoop Dogg to The Brand New Heavies (acid jazz).

I like watching random shows on one of the streaming networks but right now I have a craving for good sci-fi or murder and mayhem documentaries. I love to go hiking On the trails in my backyard and many of the other trails around where I live. I find it extremely cathartic once you reach the top. I enjoy sports like hockey, basketball, cricket, and baseball. The stipulations for liking baseball is that I have to actually be at a game in person to watch it.

One thing I have to note is my mouth. I do say bad words here and there but not quite as much as a sailor. I just started walking more and lifting weights two months ago and try and I have to say I am loving taking time to get better and/or be better. I am on a mission to lose weight so I can be a live my most confident life. Plus, I love being strong. I highly doubt I will ever get rid of my big thighs and I am OK with that.

I have lots of tattoos and piercings. I’m spiritual, not religious but I will respect yours as long as it's respectful of others. I prefer being cold to hot, unless I'm traveling and “hot” is the only weather. I LOVE plain iced tea. Finally, I'm obsessed with dogs. Yes, I love cats and other animals too. I've had many other animals but dogs are it for now.
