About me: 6'4", dark hair with a smattering of grey, reasonably good-looking if not an utter heartthrob. Glasses, facial hair. Decidedly nerdy (Ph.D, sci-fi/fantasy fan, shelves full of books/comics) with a somewhat dark sense of humor. I'm not looking for romance or to meet up. These past few years have left me a bit isolated, and I'd love to make some new friends and get to know new people. I'm definitely not opposed to things getting flirty if conversation tends that way, but I'm not expecting it either. I'm not utterly opposed to making male friends either, but I do prefer talking to women.

My favorite genres of music are rock, pop, and musicals. I like popular science books as well as the aforementioned fantasy/sci-fi. I try to moderate how much darkness is in my TV and movies, so mixing Succession with Futurama as a chaser. My favorite movie is The Princess Bride, my favorite book is Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, my favorite band/musician varies but is often one of Barenaked Ladies, Billy Joel, or Taylor Swift. Marvel over DC, though I'm partial to a well-written Harley Quinn. If you've got recommendations for any sort of pop culture, that would be fantastic.

Decidedly on the liberal side of politics. Rather than start an argument, I'll just request that anyone who voted for Trump (especially a second time) or is anti-vaxx just not message me. I don't think we'd be compatible.
