Okay so I just turned 33 like 14 seconds ago and decided to give this one more try. First of off let me be honest I am fat (330 pounds 5 foot 10 inches). I know that I am not everyone's cup of tea and realize this. I currently live in northwestern Indiana near Chicago. I moved up here for a job (just got a promotion woo) after getting a PhD in physics from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide I am an avid college football fan even though when I was in undergrad you could not pay me to watch sports). Before spending 7 years at Bama I did my undergrad at Western Kentucky University (Go Tops) where I got a double degree in physics and math. I am originally from northeastern Kentucky where all my family still reside. I have lived up here in northwestern Indiana and still really have not made any friends or any social progress at all. I tried to join a few social clubs but the one I actually enjoyed (board game/magic/other stuff) one day turned on My Little Pony and I was out the door. People tell me you just have to go out and meet people. My response is what am I suppose to do just hang out at the local grocery and start talking to women. I have tried online dating but there seems to be a small issue. Men are desperate and women are not. It seems that women don't reply to messages because they get 200 messages a day and men send tons of messages because women don't reply. It seems like as a male you just have to constantly shotgun out messages in hopes to get one reply. I do have friends from college and high school that I talk to regularly and play xbox with so its not all bad. So about me I am some awkward nerd, goth, redneck mix. I would say 60 percent nerd, 25 percent redneck, and 15 percent goth. I do love going to concerts and this summer have seen Rob Zombie/Marilyn Manson and just saw three days ago Five Finger Death Punch and Breaking Benjamin. Hobbies I still am kind of short on since the graduate school pretty much becomes ones life when your in it. I am looking for something that may spawn in a relationship something long term.
