2024 has ended, and I welcome 2025 with a sense of hope. I made a few connections last year, but they led nowhere. I don't know if it was because of the holiday and losing connection with them or if people feel that ghosting is easier than just saying goodbye. But this time around, I am hopeful that I will meet someone who can be the one.

Who am I? I'm Russ, originally from Georgia, but live in Alaska due to my work. When I moved to Alaska, I drove across the country, which was an enjoyable experience. I love traveling and seeing new places, and having a bachelor's in history, I got to see some historical sites I had only studied about in college. I also love the outdoors, having grown up camping every summer in the mountains of Georgia. Some of my other hobbies are going to the gym, and I try to visit it at least four times a week if work allows me to.

I am also a big book and gaming person. I don't play as many games as I did in my younger days, but I play every now and then. But I love reading; I have about a hundred books and usually read something on my phone. Cooking is another passion of mine, either picking up recipes from social media or from one of the cookbooks I own. You don't have to enjoy all the same things as I do, but I hope we have some shared interests that we can explore together.

What am I seeking? I am seeking a long-term partner who wants to eventually get married and have a family. I don't expect us to immediately go running off to Vegas and get married; I want it to be known what I am seeking since I know not everyone wants to get married or have kids. As I mentioned, I would prefer someone who shares some of my interests, and I hope you can also share your own interests. My job allows me to transfer around the country, so I am not locked to staying in Alaska. I'm open to considering other locations for the right person.
