Writing this post with very low expectations but in the spirit of being in my writing flow today. Think of this as a message in a bottle, cast out into the vast ocean, hoping—against all odds—that it finds its way to someone meaningful. The odds are very very slim, but never zero ;)

Who am I?
33M, athletic build, 170cm (5'7), decent-looking (according to my brutally honest friends, including women). I’d share more about my race and background, but I’d rather connect with someone for whom those things don’t matter or create bias. Career-wise, I’m on solid ground, with a strong sense of stability. I’d like to think I’m well-read, well-educated, somewhat nicely traveled, culturally aware, and in a good place emotionally and mentally. Like everyone, I carry some emotional baggage, but I’m pretty good at keeping it neatly packed. ;)

Why this post?
Honestly, I’m burnt out by the flakiness of dating apps xD. They seem to have warped how we approach connection and turned love into something to “optimize.” For me, love is about long-term compatibility, understanding, and passion—not a sprint or quick fix. Apps just don’t reflect that for me anymore.

It’s been 1.5 years since my last long-term relationship ended (amicably but due to differing life goals), and I’m ready to start again. At this stage in life, I’m looking for something real—a marathon, not a fleeting sprint. Life is already good, but I think it could be even better with the right person by my side. Ideally, someone who’s also looking for a long-term partnership, someone who’s open to growing together and maybe even growing old together (no pressure, though :P).

Where am I?
I’m based in the Germany/Switzerland region but have lived in six countries. Long term, I’d like to settle in Western Europe, somewhere sunny and warm.

About me:
I’m an INFP, and my interests span a lot of areas. Fitness is important to me—not obsessively so, but I do need my daily movement to feel balanced. I’m into things like bouldering, yoga, tennis, and long walks. At the same time, I love cozy, low-key activities like board games, movie nights, cooking, baking, tea ceremonies, and trying new musical instruments. I read a lot and enjoy historical and cultural documentaries (big fan of ARTE).

I’m mostly plant-based and try to be mindful of my environmental footprint, though I don’t preach about it.

Personality-wise, I’d describe myself as humorous and lighthearted—I don’t take myself too seriously and connect best with people who share that vibe. I’m also working toward a CoastFIRE life, aiming for a future that balances stability with bursts of passion, curiosity, and fun.

I’m a pet lover—more of a cat person (though currently pet-free)—and as for kids, I’m leaning toward a soft no, but it depends on the partner and life circumstances.

Who I’m looking for:
I’d love to connect with someone in Europe, ideally between 31-35, who’s looking for something meaningful and long-term. Someone who’s done (or not interested in) with casual flings and knows what they want in a relationship. I’m happy to connect virtually and invest the effort to build something, as long as there’s mutual interest in meeting up at some point.
