Hi All! I need a distraction from all the...goings on...in the US today. So, I figured what better way to capitalize on a ridiculous day than by finding some new friends on Reddit!?

I'm originally from Ireland and have lived in multiple countries but have been settled in Washington DC for the last few years. Also, just to preempt some of the common questions I get: Yes, I still have the accent. No, I am not always drunk. Yes, I can make soda bread. No, I've never caught a leprechaun. Yes, I love potatoes. No, I don't know your friend/cousin Liam. Yes, I have heard of the town where your ancestors are from.

I work in climate change, so I am either perpetuating a hoax or helping save the world. Hopefully this will still be a viable job in four years time. I try to stay pretty active. Recently I've been a big fan of long walks...between the couch and fridge. I really enjoy running...out to stock up on snacks.. And I lift. Lift cakes and other goodies out of the oven. But I do genuinely enjoy cycling and going to the gym. I try to do one or the other every day. I enjoy my work, I enjoy my friendships, I enjoy quiet time spent reading or listening to podcasts. I even enjoy watching a great TV show or movie, radical as that may sound! I don't enjoy idiots, dummies or the closed minded. Ultimately, I just try to be mindful of my time and put thought into whatever it is I am doing. I think time is a non-renewable resource so I do my best not to waste it. I love to cook and bake. If you are someone who enjoys chocolate cake or fresh bread, I’ve definitely got you covered. And you haven’t lived until you’ve had my roast potatoes.
