Hello there! I'm new to Reddit, and still figuring out how everything works here :). I might be editing and reposting this until I know what I'm doing.

I'm just a nerdy guy online looking for friends, potentially more. I know I know, this sounds like a safe answer, and it is! As time goes on I'll refine this answer, but lets start slow shall we? Of course I'm looking for infamous "The One" but I'm getting ahead of myself. Any strong romantic relationship has a strong friendship as its foundation. Friends are always nice, but a deeper connection will have my attention.

Quick disclaimer, if you're a male reading this, send me a message too! Sadly I can only offer being best platonic bros with you T_T

So. Who am I? Well, I'm 33, single, Asian, 6ft2 (yes I get less eloquent when I talk about myself shush). I'm a little overweight but for the past year I've been improving that for myself. I miss my days of doing laps in the pool. Feel free to ask me anything! I'll answer anything within reason. There is no such thing as a stupid question (I challenge you to that!).

I'm currently working a late start career in mental health. Right now I need my Masters to fully open all the doors. I'm still finding my niche but I love Psychology and want to find where I'd be most helpful. I may be more of an introvert, but I love learning about people. Yes, it's an oxymoron (shush). Yes I get drained easily (silencio). Tis the path laid out before me XD. It's made me patient, a good listener, emotionally and mentally stable and available (although we all have our off days from time to time), and able to understand someone far past the surface. If you're looking for a rock, I'll surprise you. Just stay away from the ones you pick up outside. They're real stoners.

How much of a nerd am I? Ok, I gotta watch Pandoras Box here. Anime and video games are my main these days, but you name it and I've dipped my toes in it. Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Trek, Stranger Things, the list will be too long here. Love a good story and lore. I'll lap it up. Anime wise can't go wrong with the Ghibli movies (what's your favorite?) Video games, I enjoyed Destiny during COVID but recently put it down to enjoy other games. I like the single player artsy games or RPGs, but I'll get into Marvel Rivals or other popular multi-player games to enjoy fun with friends.

SO. Why Reddit? Why not? Sure there's the worries of strangers on the internet, and Reddit does mean more chances of bots or catfish here, but call me naive or optimistic, I still belive at the end of the day, we're all just people trying to connect with someone. That on the other side of the screen is still a person. So screw it, I'll take the leap. Very little will phase me at my current point in life.

What am I looking for? Like I said, for online, friends first and foremost. I'm keeping my expectations here steady with the hopes of a pleasant surprise. Long term? Someone just genuine. Someone who can communicate. Will that change as I experience the differences between online and IRL? Most likely!

I hope life will treat you right and you find the happiness you deserve. The world is kinda scary right now. The internet can bring out the worst in us. But we have to remember that all of us are just trying to live the best we can, without wanting to harm anyone to get ours. I sincerely wish you all the luck you need to succeed!
