Happy Monday, friend.

It is unfortunately my first day back at work after two wonderful weeks off for the holidays and I am in dire need of distraction. Want to help me?

I am very much ignoring the fact that it is a new year, people are making resolutions, and that my birthday is approaching. I usually never make resolutions, but I did this year - move out of Indiana. I have been here for over two years now, and while it overall was a good career move, I can't live here anymore. The political climate did not suit me at all and I fear it will only get worse, if not much worse. I have been, to no avail, trying to find a job in Chicago, but am hoping good news will come on that front soon.

I am single and have completely given up on dating for the last three months or so. Dating as a liberal in a conservative area is a joke and online dating is just the absolute worst. So instead, I am here. I miss having someone just to text throughout the day, send photos and voice notes to. I'd love to find a friend to do that with and catch up with throughout the day. If that friend becomes something more, great. If not, that's okay too.

But I digress. Here’s the stuff you actually want to know about me: I drink way too much coffee but I have to, it’s my life force. I greatly enjoy crafting, especially macrame and collage, and some pottery when I get the chance. I love the outdoors, primarily hiking and kayaking but really anything that gets me out in nature. I watch far too much TV ranging from actually decent quality stuff to terrible reality tv. I do read, mostly novels and historical fiction and non-fiction but I don’t do it enough. I do yoga and Zumba fairly regularly. I like to write and hope one I will actually successfully write a novel of my own. I love learning about my friend’s interests too, surrounding myself with passionate people is extremely important to me.
