Hello, Reddit, Charles here.

I don't really put myself out there much, but I'll give you the rundown. I'm a 35 year old single dad of a 10 year old that brightens my life each day. He's my best friend. I'm a writer, creator, and artist that strives to issue // assign no limits to my creativity. I'm an introvert that sometimes comes out of his shell for the right person(s). And passion rules my life. I'm an INTJ, if that matters to you. I absorb knowledge like a sponge. I enjoy singing, and can carry a tune (but you'll have to be really special to hear this).

I'm content to be alone, considering my social battery is pretty low. But I don't always like being alone. Sometimes I miss companionship, being excited to learn about someone new, and that's why I'm here.

I like video games that make me think. Sometimes, I write poetry that could be turned into a song. I'm also not a very emotional person. Logic from a sound mind and facts, figures, and stats are essential to my decision making processes. I do not make decisions based on the heart.

I prefer to cast a wide net in my potential dating pool. I'm very direct with what I want and how I operate. I'm cool with just about any dating situation, and I'm certainly not clingy. I'm a "ball is in your court" person; if my conversational energy is obvious and not being reciprocated, I can and will go back to whatever I was doing before and leave the response to you. I don't need to beat down your door to talk to you, and I'd like it if your mindframe was similar.

I'm from Florida and live in CFL, but I've lived in many different places. Ask me about hurricanes and climate change.

I listen to a ton of music and consume // experience a plethora of art. Deftones, Teenage Wrist, Tycho, The Roots, Thornhill, Linkin Park, PVRIS, Silent Planet, Radiohead, and an incredible number of others excite me. Nu-metal, shoegaze, metalcore, indie pop, IDM, alt-rock, pop-punk, and much more. Music is my biggest passion, but I also enjoy sports, gaming, and generally educating myself on important things.

If I see justice is not being served, it upsets me to no end.

What I'm looking for in a woman is someone who can intellectually stimulate me. By far the most important way you can connect to me is by teaching me something, or generally opening my mind to new ideas. If you can do that, we can worry about the rest later. I'm not looking to get married tomorrow, but I'm also not looking for a purely platonic friendship forever (even though the power of female friendships is immense to me). If you can't be friends with the person as well as lovers, what's the point? Any positive relationship I've had has always been with the ability to do friend activities. I don't plan on deviating from what's worked previously.
