Hello, so it’s not so easy to write these things… So I will start with, a little light conversation, and go with how was your day and how are you? And write a little as if I’m writing a friend… For me today, I did a run in Regent’s Park. I was supposed to be running with a group, but I totally missed the early morning call, so started my training in the afternoon. It was freezing! But life felt a lot better after a 20m warm-up… Work-wise, it wasn’t a terrific week, as been busy with the run up to Xmas, and trying to put every project to bed, but by Friday night I felt almost nearly there and almost nearly human… Plus currently fending off some Xmas party hangovers and a pretty wiped-out chest infection too. Wondering, why all work do’s are always on a Thursday? Generally thinking life as an elder millennial makes you feel somewhere trapped between reminiscing about fond IRL meets, always an abundance of people everywhere, wondering about nightclubs at 2am, having a sit down in pubs and bars with your uni workmates almost every worknight, packed classes and evening events, and now socials and romance are like trying to find your one Cinderella shoe amongst a sea of internet people… So hey Meet-up, OLD, when did we all become so niche? As if looking at a tiny 1inch Zoom/window/app and wondering if that person you’re talking to is short, square, a giant, or actually a real human… and whether you will really gel with anyone IRL? Thinking most people have lost their ability to talk to strangers and I have lost my knack for approaching strangers socially except in professional conferences (the last dying vestiges of acceptable IRL meets). Maybe let’s chat and not be strangers… IRL all the way, cos that’s real for me. Send a chat and an intro and a personality - where you live and what you’re looking for on here, Redditors?
