Hey. Trying this out again in the hopes of finding someone (or some people) with whom I/we connect. It might be the case that I’m not your average person because I’ve tried this several times before and most times it just kind of leads nowhere. Idk. We will see.

How do I describe myself? I tend to be introverted. Other people have told me that I’m kind, thoughtful, patient, understanding, compassionate, disciplined, analytical. I’ve also been labeled as quiet and “serious” (which to a certain extent is true), and have been not so surreptitiously mocked for being so. If that bothers you, thank you for reading this far and please move on. I identify as a skeptical agnostic atheist.

What do I like to do in my spare time? Read, mostly Wikipedia articles, Reddit posts, the occasional interesting book of nonfiction or fiction. Listen to podcasts and audiobooks. Watch shows/movies. Exercise. Play basketball, video games.

What intellectual interests do I have? Mostly psychology, science, philosophy, history, some politics. I think that I tend to be obsessive in one or more of these areas.

I’ve struggled with some mental health issues for several years now (which I’ve certainly made great inroads in with therapy and medication), and I’m currently not working. I’ve been able to complete some college, but have not yet earned a higher education degree. Again, if any of that bothers you, I appreciate you reading and ask you to please move on.

What do I ask of you? Not much, really, outside of being open minded, kind, and respectful. I don’t expect you to be funny or witty or whatever on demand, like a trained seal or something. I think that any interpersonal relationship can work provided that each person treats the other well and has an interest in maintaining the relationship. Actually work and actual compatibility is of course determined with time and experience, but having a foundation helps :)
