Happy Saturday, Reddit.
These things can sometimes be hard to write. Finding the right words to express yourself and being able to effectively say exactly what you're looking for. There's also the fear of being vulnerable and being open to the possibility of being disappointed.
I am from the West Coast but currently live in the Midwest. This isn't my forever home, but it is for the time being. I have a good job, a home, awesome pets, and I like to believe I know what and who I want. I'd like to save the details for when we are getting to know one another. I find that peeling back the layers of what makes someone who they are very exciting and I hope you feel the same.
I would love to find my person. If all I find is some good conversations and friends, I would be okay with that too. I spent a decade in a long term relationship and it feels like dating is so different now than it was 10 years ago. Is it just me or does it seem like nobody is willing to open themselves to the possibility of something deep and long lasting? Ghosting is rampant, nobody knows how to communicate, and it seems like the quick dopamine hits of meeting someone new every few days is what people are searching for. I don't care what you look like or where you are in the world, just please be real. I'm not married and I expect the same of you and in today's political climate, I am not interested in anyone that supports Trump.
