I just got in from a long day and could go for a (voice) chat with a stranger. How's fall treating you? It's basically winter where I am, but I don't mind. Snow and short days always struck me as cozy. Grad school applications are taking up most of my time so I'm not reading as much as usual for pleasure. My favorite recent reads were Sally Rooney's Intermezzo (devastating) and Eva Illouz's The End of Love (ditto). I'm writing about Nelly Sachs' Flight and Metamorphosis and mystical theology for school. What do you like to read?
I'm planning to make dinner and settle in for the night, but I'll be free in an hour or two if anyone feels like talking books, food, the seasons, God, music, childhood, culture, getting older, travel, vocation, wonder, relationships, film, regrets, whatever. My only requests are don't be boring and don't be shy. I'll check my messages later tonight. Enjoy your night / day / other unspecified fleeting sliver of time. 🌍
