Post Body

I want to hear about your ideal weekend. It's absolutely dull weather here and I wish I travelled someplace else for the weekend. If you went with me, our weekend may look like this.

Imagine this: We arrive on a Thursday night for a three-day weekend and we step off the train at a city we've never been to. We get to our hotel and promptly collapse into bed. We wake up early and since we ask the night front desk person, we already know the best place to get breakfast. My goal of trying something different at each meal didn't quite pan out and while I'm not unhappy, I would rather be having your apple-topped waffles.

We meander around the city to the biggest museum. I partake in anything Renaissance to the 19th century.

It's a beautiful crisp day and we enjoy our lunch and drinks outside. Reading all the free brochures that we picked up, plus whatever rather expensive book caught our eye at the museum shop. While engrossed in one of those books, you didn't notice that I topped up our drinks as I've been enjoying sitting outside with you too much to leave. Finally, it's time to move. We head to another museum, catching a few other slights on our way there. Afterwards, we head to the restaurant that you haven't stopped talking about for weeks. Here, I wasn't at all disappointed by what I chose, and neither were you, as you nibbled off my plate. We take an after-dinner stroll in an attempt to find room for more because, in my mind, a great day isn't complete until there's ice cream. After seeing the city nightlife beam, we both chose to be weary as we did a fair amount of walking that day.

Saturday might end up being more beautiful than Friday. We head to the cafe that piqued our interest on one of our walks from yesterday. Coffee, pastries, and a newspaper are all we need. We plan our day. A tram to the highest point in the city, Another post-lunch stroll which just happens to be the bookshop/shopping area. We overspend on books but we're quite proud that neither one of us bought a book the other one had. Glad I brought the bigger suitcase to stuff all these books on our journey home. We decided to part for a few hours. There are a few places you want to see and there's a rugby/football match that I want to see. We agreed to meet up in a few hours back at our hotel. A quick nap, followed by a lovely dinner. I encountered somebody while watching the match who suggested we go to this pub that had traditional music. We might have too many but work off some of it while enjoying the music.

Sunday turned rainy. We go back to that cafe after sleeping in a tad. The staff remembers us. The server gives me the largest mug of coffee they have. We pull out our laptops and get some writing/work done but spend more time observing the locals. Perhaps a bit of editing of Wikipedia as I now have a bunch of local history books. We start planning our next weekend away on the train back.

Some details about me.

I'm a rather big guy in general. I go to the gym often The weight is slightly going down but I’m feeling fitter I will always be a large man owing to beer and cheese. 6'3 if that matters. Can send photos once we talk.

I'm back at university doing a history program, focusing on the late 19th century. I am planning on going for a Ph.D. My day job is as a support worker for a homeless shelter to afford these weekend aways. I'm also a writer of contemporary and historical fiction. Been travelling and moving around for most of my life.

Looking for somebody who likes to be inquisitive and a bit sassy about the world. There's so much to learn out there. Also, some of it's rather funny, so let's laugh a lot. Maybe open a bookshop and cheesemonger together in a small village.
