Looking for someone/people to get to know around Ottawa, or even who just want to get to know each other online through mutual hobbies!
I'm originally from around London, Ontario, but moved to Ottawa recently for work. Between those, I lived in Ireland for about 6 years where I studied and worked in Limerick and Cork cities!
I'm a pretty low-key person. My day-to-day hobbies generally include watching films and playing games.
I try to make it out to the ByTowne or Mayfair Theatres once or twice a week. My favourite film of the year is probably I Saw the TV Glow which I caught at the ByTowne! I love horror or some good personal dramas. Action/sci-fi depending on the vibe. Really looking forward to Egger's Nosferatu and the Bob Dylan biopic this Christmas!
For games, I play a fair bit of FFXIV (SCH main on Aether) but recently have been playing a bunch of Metaphor Refantazio (that'll likely be my GOTY, that or Yakuza 8). I mostly play single player stuff, but I'm always down to do so over a Discord call, or try our something multiplayer with someone on their recommendation!
Before I moved to Ottawa, I also would usually go out about once a week with friends for pints until we inevitably ended up on a dance floor somewhere until the early hours of the morning. Unfortunately, I haven't really found the good places for that here, but I'd love to be shown around! I'm also interested in stuff like live music or D&D or something, but also haven't really had a chance to learn the scenes around here!
