I have a problem, and only you can help. A belief I’d like to challenge really. And I need a partner in crime to prove, or disprove it.
So here it is:
Whatever I’m made of, that’s not my brain, is convinced that soul mates exist and that it can only be one person. Not a specific person, but a “one.” I think this belief is problematic.
My brain screams back that’s not true at all. That anyone could fall in love with anyone else under the right conditions. That we’re just a bunch of chemical reactions and circumstance fueling everything we think we feel. That’s a reasonable “belief.” It is also problematic, if that’s true then how do you ever “fall in love.”
Would you like to test it with me?
I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t have a plan we should follow, or even a well planned strategy to try. Our goal is to find out, can I fall in love with you, and can you fall in love with me? I mean I think the thing is I’d like to fall in love with you. I want evidence that it doesn’t matter much who it is, just what you do together that creates that feeling of “the one.”
If it doesn’t work this can be a funny story we tell at parties. If it does, well the aren’t we lucky. 🍀
