As the title says, I'm in my late 30s. I've got three teenage daughters, very cuddly animals, and plenty of friends. I'm fairly happy with my life but can't help but feel a void. I'd like to find a real, genuine connection with someone. I want deep conversations, mutual support, care, concern, warmth, etc.
Work: I work as an engineer in the games industry and work on a few open-source projects I care deeply about. I tend to prefer startups and smaller passion projects. I've built a career I'm proud of and make a good, comfortable living, but I'm not what one would call "work focused" ..
Play: I'm happiest outdoors, on my bike, omw to a campsite. I love to paint, draw, write, and otherwise make things. I just don't feel at peace if I go too long without making something with my mind or my hands. Otherwise I love to read (memoirs, horror, fantasy), listen to music (all over the place), and could talk about my favorite movies all night (Interstellar, US, About Time, lots more).
I have no expectation of you beyond that you're kind and considerate. I'd like to tell jokes/share memes and get lost in conversation in equal measure.
