I have had a miserable week, and a miserable summer overall. I am looking for genuine chats. I would prefer something ongoing, but I am open to a one time chat. I am open to meeting in person if we connect well enough by chatting.

After a lot of incredible frustration, I am looking for the right type of responses. I'd rather get no responses than the wrong ones. This may seem harsh, but I promise, I am really a very nice, kind person who is a good friend.

-It is essential that you are a good conversationalist. If you cannot carry a conversation, please don't respond. I will not reply to those who say only "hi" or "hey", or something similar.

-I am tired of being ghosted or having people disappear. If you decide that you don't want to continue chatting with me, there will be no hard feelings. But you need to have an adult conversation and tell me so. I will not argue, and I will wish you well. Be upfront about whether you want a one time chat or something ongoing. If you want something ongoing, that means you need to be able to chat on a regular basis. It doesn't have to be every day, but you can't expect to keep something up when you can chat only once in a blue moon.

-If you want more than a one time chat, you need to be emotionally available. I have had more than a few women genuinely want to get to know me and then tell me they don't have the emotional bandwidth for a friendship, let alone for dating.

-I mainly use a computer and use my phone only when out and about. A computer is much more ergonomic and I touch type. I hate the tiny keyboards on phones! I am constantly asked, as early as the first chat, to take our chat elsewhere. I do not have any other chat platforms, so please do not ask to take our chat off Reddit. For me, it is only Reddit chat until we get to the point of having phone calls. I know, hearing from many others, that the Reddit app can be glitchy. This can be gotten around by using a Web browser on your phone to sign in. If you are not willing to stay here, please do not bother responding.

-I'm very well aware of the gender imbalance on Reddit and on online dating apps. You, as a woman, will have better options than me as far as dating, a relationship, or any type of casual or semi-casual arrangement. I don't expect to be your first choice, and I may not be even A choice of yours. For that reason, I have accepted that I am probably not going to get anything more than friends out of this.

-I have been burned way too many times by women who have told me that they've connected with someone else and want to end our chat completely. It just happened to me a few hours ago. For that reason, I talk to and get to know more than one woman at a time, so this way I am not starting completely from scratch when I inevitably get that news. If you cannot handle that, I'm not the right one for you. Even when and if I decide to date one woman exclusively, I will try to remain friends with the others, I do not get rid of someone completely if we connect on a friend level.

-I am NOT 420 friendly. If you smoke marijuana, you need to be willing to abstain from it while hanging out with me and make sure you don't smell of it. If you can't or won't do that, then the only thing that's going to work for us is to solely chat. Cigarettes and hard drugs are an absolute dealbreaker for anything more than chats.

-My current availability is mostly in the evenings (ET). The daytime is usually difficult for me to talk. I am, at this moment, not able to talk throughout the day. I can chat almost every evening, but if this time of day does not work for you, it doesn't make sense to respond.

-For this post, please, only respond if you are in the US or Canada. It is simply too difficult otherwise.
