I know the title is a bit confusing and specific, so I'll try to explain further haha. I'm mostly looking to find a close friend who is available to talk a decent amount each day. Doesn't have to be constant though, obviously, especially during working hours. Basically, I just want someone who puts in as much effort as I do. I tend to talk a lot, respond to messages pretty quickly, and importantly if I'm going to be gone for a few hours or if my responses will be delayed for a while (e.g. while playing a game with my family) then I'll let you know. That is surprisingly hard to find for some reason.
I am mostly looking for a friend right now, however I am not opposed to a relationship down the line, especially if you live within around 4 hours or less driving distance to Cincinnati, OH (I have tried longer distance in the past and it can strain things a lot). The reason I'm not immediately seeking a relationship is because I just got out of one about two months ago, but also I am in a transition period in my life at the moment where I'm not working due to some depression and ADHD stuff, but I am trying to return within the next 2-3 months. So I feel like it would only be fair that I have a stable job before getting into another relationship. Again though, if you want to strictly be friends I am 100% open to that and it's what I'm primarily seeking. Oh, and I work as a software engineer!
Holy shit, that explanation took longer than I thought it would. Thank you for reading that if you got this far. Anyway, some more about myself! I'm very passionate about video games, music, anime, and movies (probably in that order for most interested to "least" interested). I especially really love anything that gets a strong emotional response or can make me cry. I feel like all of my favorite games (at least single-player) and anime have all been emotional stuff. My favorite movie ever is Your Name and if you've seen that you know just how much of an emotional roller-coaster that is, haha. I do like playing multiplayer games though! I play with my siblings sometimes (I have 8 of them) but they aren't available as often these days. So if you want to play co-op FPS games or farming games or anything else really (I'm a Steam player mostly) then that is a plus! Definitely not required though. The game I'm currently into a lot right now is Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, but I have loads of suggestions for games to play.
I also have a history with music in that I was a band kid in high school up through college a bit (bari sax mostly). I have since retired from playing sax but I have just started to learn bass guitar! I wanted to try something new and different and I like it because I can play songs I actually listen to, whereas with sax I was mostly playing jazz but I don't really listen to jazz in my freetime. Speaking of listening to music, I am into quite a lot of different stuff but just to name some genres: classic rock, 90s alt, ska, pop punk, electronic, j-rock, and vocaloid.
Another aspect of myself that I have learned to appreciate is that I do have a very kind heart, I have been through a lot in my own life and met a lot of people who have been through a lot as well. So I think that has enhanced my empathy and I just generally like to listen to people and offer advice and comfort whenever I can. I also hand out a lot of compliments (even to strangers in-person) so prepare yourself for that.
As far as looks go, I am 6'3", 240 lbs (gained some weight from depression stuff but I am losing it currently, used to be normal weight), thick medium-length brown hair is that is going gray (trying to figure out what I want to do with my hair length right now), glasses, green eyes. I have some ear piercings but no tattoos. Clean shaven. Willing to share a picture after a bit if things go well. Anyway, if I've captured your interest I would love to hear from you!
