Maybe I’m too pessimistic, obviously people find each other all the time but to me it always feels like it’s really hard to find both in a person. I’ve met some people who I got along great with but they didn’t live anywhere near me while I’ve met some people who are close but we didn’t have anything in common.

So what am I looking for? It’s someone who is interested in some part of me and vice versa. That’s kind of a generic statement so an example would be someone that has similar interests/hobbies (I like cooking and photography). Or maybe we have the same cultural background (I’m a first gen Asian American) or shared beliefs (round Earther). Or it could be as simple as a physical attraction. We could even have very little in common but still get along for whatever reason. Sometimes I think I’m chasing a feeling, a spark, a connection, a physical attraction, an emotional attraction…it is admittedly a lot but I don’t expect it all in one person, I’d be happy to find just one or two things and have whatever kind of relationship we’re both comfortable with. I have a long term partner and we both believe that one person can’t (and shouldn’t) meet every need so we believe it’s OK if there are other people in our lives that provide pieces that are missing. It’s always been emotional/non-physical needs that we’d go to others for but recently we’ve talked about meeting physical/sexual needs outside the relationship too. Whatever you may be interested in let me know and we can get to know each other.

I’m a fairly realistic person so I feel like the odds of finding matches are low. On the flip side, after years of being immersed in tv/movies that depict meet cutes and “the one” I still believe there is a chance for something unexpected so whether you are half way around the world or within walking distance from me, tell me a little about yourself, what you are looking for and let’s see if we can keep the conversation going. It’s a Sunday afternoon and I’m done with everything I had planned for the weekend so I thought why not give it another try.
