My name is Stanley; I'm a happily married stay-at-home dad of 5 currently residing in Michigan just a little northwest of Detroit. Aside from spending most days chasing my little ones around and tirelessly cleaning the messes left in their wake, I am also a PC gamer, book nerd, writer, music enthusiast, vocalist, dabble in sketching and doodling on occasion, deal with an alphabet soup of mental health issues, and am a 420/Devil's lettuce connoisseur.
A little more about myself, I enjoy internet humor, memes, TikTok/reels, etc. Sociopolitically speaking, I am apathetic at the moment, bordering on nihilistic, but still somewhat left-leaning and still kind of anti-state (though I'm not here to have a heated debate about worldviews or to convince you or be convinced myself of anything). Mostly, philosophically and ethically, I'm just a live-and-let-live kind of person.
I love to game on PC when I have time but due to multiple young children underfoot, I rarely get more than 30 minutes to an hour uninterrupted to play anything. I am always happy to try and link up with friends to game whenever schedules make it so. Mostly a coop/pve type gamer but down for Warzone and COD multiplayer when time permits.
I love to write and I love to read. I have been neglecting to do both on a regular basis in the last couple of years unfortunately, but I can always recommend stuff and I love to hear about new authors. Book genres I enjoy include Sci-Fi, fantasy, horror, poetry, and philosophy.
I'm a music enthusiast and I mostly listen to noisy stuff like metal and rock and punk and pretty much anything with an alternative sheen or pastiche to it if you will. However, there's something from nearly every genre that I am into and love. I also love doing vocals of all kinds, much to the chagrin of my spouse and children (it mostly annoys my spouse though). Yes, even the screaming stuff that metal vocalists sometimes do.
I have neglected physical art for some time but I am always on the look out for a source of inspiration to draw something new.
I was diagnosed with depression and ADHD by the end of elementary school and at the beginning of middle school/junior high. In my 20s I was diagnosed with complex PTSD and major depression. Everyday is a battle to roll the boulder of my mental illnesses up the hill and feign my happiness. I am Sisyphus incarnate.
And last but certainly not least, I am a guru of all things cannabis related.
"You know, I think everybody longs to be loved, and longs to know that he or she is lovable. And consequently, the greatest thing we can do is to help somebody know that they are loved and capable of loving." - Fred Rogers
