I was born. I will die. The about me in between all that is a beautifully jumbled up mix of people and experiences. Changes, growth, love, sadness, joy, hurt, goodbyes, hellos, and reflection. The gift of my young daughter (age 5) who is the most important to me, as I once lost a young son. We tight. Ask me about any of my life, I’m an open book. A lot of my pages have been torn out, but there are more to be written. I am a perpetual innovator and profound contemplator/deep thinker. I’ve always believed there’s more to life than what we see or hear. I assign meaning to a falling leaf and feel the poetry and grace in the expressions on couples’ faces when their hands find each other on a busy street. To the feeling of absentmindedly touching my partner, because it comforts me in a way I can never define. I am the human equivalent of a Wikipedia page, but for useless information. My heart does more than pump blood; I have a mind that runs more creativity than by 1’s and 0’s; and a body that more often than not, finds itself in the middle of the most amazing adventures. Really though, I just live best I can to justify my existence for a few more decades.

I'm the sort of person you become if you watch Caddyshack and Golden Girls obsessively around the age of 12. I’m full of bad puns/dad jokes, terrible innuendos, and witty comebacks. I cuss a lot, though it’s not directed towards others in anger – unless there’s disrespect towards myself or another, or if I’m in traffic. I have a techy job which makes me a gentleman on the streets and a freak with the geeks in the spreadsheets. I enjoy physics and math. I enjoy rage sighing, eating tacos like I’m on my way to the electric chair, and I am undefeated when asking to race…after I’ve already started running. I love to hike, camp, and am pretty active. But I will sure as hell lay around an entire weekend and binge LOTR. Join me…my precious.

I figured I’d try this again since there are no openings in the Dating Protection Program, and mouthing “I love you” to strangers in public hasn’t been working. I’m pretty plain looking. 5’11. Brown hair, blue eyes. Athletic dad bod to average. You likely wouldn’t give two blinks worth of a look at me if you saw me walk by. You also wouldn’t scream in horror and punk me in the face with a frying pan. There’s nothing fancy about me; I drive a car that screams professional by day, dad by night. I buy my clothes at Kohls and Target. But I’m the perfect example of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” What lies beyond my outer shell is what people enjoy most. I’m fun. I’m supportive. I live for creating temptation with my partner and keeping things interesting. Without self-aggrandizing, I believe that anyone aside from those in traffic, would agree that I am the most kind. I have a big heart and I’ve given a piece of that to everyone close to me in life. And there’s still a lot to give. I’m emotionally available, and sure about it. I feel that’s an important mention. Hopefully you are too. Seriously.

It's hard these days…it’s a selfish world. Everything seems to be temporary, and it’s about dragging people along while you find the next best thing…biding time. Meetups with others while you are still in the picture. People who will look deep into your eyes and say “I love you,” while they don’t mean it. Relationships have become hobbies. Hurting someone is a joke. Parties and celebrations after breaking someone’s heart. Cheating is part of the relationship. I know there are still great people out there, hence why I still try.

I’ve got some strong boundaries at this point though. If you think we might have something things in common that could make for some good times, come say hi (not just hi). Be kind. Own what you got. Focus on your good and come with your best. Short, tall, skinny, big, Brillo pads for eyebrows or a stare that makes me wonder if you have lead poisoning – I don’t care. We are all flawed. We can discuss those in time, as I have my flaws. I’ll just think yours are cute. Let’s not let it be the focus. Be witty, and don’t take yourself too seriously. Be confident, not pretentious. Smartassy, not snarky. Let’s have conversations. Let’s be clingy. Double text. Call, say good morning and goodnight. I like knowing someone cares because they show it. I like knowing they’re putting in effort. I’m simple. I just want someone to show me something awesome, teach me something new, to share stories and adventures with, and to help me with my headstand. Let’s get next level and make people jealous. Let’s create beautiful days. Rest your head on my chest on dark days. Open your heart’s fist to an outstretched hand. Take mine. Let’s just be fucking decent humans to each other, which seems to be a rarity nowadays. I don’t care where you live necessarily because if we are worth it to each other, the world is as small as we make it. Just know I am looking to meet at some point.

Few rules: I’m looking past day 2 or 3 here…day chat or online only kinda things won’t last for me long term. Please only reply if you’re serious. Please be patient with me if I don’t reply right away and be on the lookout for a reply to yours if you decide to respond. And don’t come at me with your OF page. I have central air. Overall, I need something rooted in a little bit more reality and with a light at the end of the tunnel, so I’d like to focus my time on those that are wanting the same. And then we can have snugs.
