As the temperatures plunge tonight and I settle in for dinner, I can't help but find myself wishing I had the warmth of some friends, a found family, or maybe even a special someone to curl up and hibernate with. It's been just over 4 years since I moved here, and while I've made many amazing friends and built a content life for myself, I've not yet found the deeper connections that make for a truly fulfilling life. That's where I'm hoping you come in, friendly Redditor! I'd love to meet some folks local to the Denver area (or potentially wider Colorado) who are interested in making a new friend, and maybe even meeting up if things go well. It's brutally difficult to make enduring connections as an adult, and it can be intimidating as heck to heck to chat up an internet rando, but I say we buck the trend and take a chance on friendship (or more)!

• Scott, a 35 year old, single (happily divorced), software engineer with no kids and one amazing fur baby, Max!

• An extrovert who loves to be social, but has learned to appreciate time to myself as well

• Empathetic to a fault, and described by friends as self-aware, loyal, funny, sweet, and witty

• Fairly progressive and open-minded (the MAGA crowd need not apply)

• An enjoyer of the usual nerdy hobbies like reading, board/card/PC games with friends (ideally co-op), and movies, as well as some more diverse ones like hiking, cooking, and woodworking

• A regular user of cannabis that would love to find a fellow ents to enjoy some music or comedy with

• Neurodivergent (if you couldn't tell by the "engineer" bit), and in general a big proponent of therapy, mental health, and self care
