Howdy! First of all, here is me

My name is Matthew. I am 31-year-old Industrial Electrician, and living in the Southern part New Zealand. Prior to that, I served with the New Zealand Army in a technical role.

All of that aside, my hobbies include:

• Enjoying the outdoors. I like hiking out in the mountains, nature photography, and kayaking on the nearby lake
• Cooking and spending time in the kitchen. I love to cook pizza, and I even received a pasta maker for a Christmas present!
• Self-improvement. I’m currently trying to attain the physique I once had in my military days
• High fantasy video games such as Morrowind, Dark Souls, Dragon’s Dogma
• Contemplating whether I should grow my hair longer. Feel free to tell me if that’s a good idea or not!
  

So why am I looking for love online? I live in a small town in the southern end of the country. While it is a beautiful location, the demand for AirBnB-style accommodation has raised the cost of housing in the area. Couple this with young people being forced to move away, and it creates very little opportunity for me to meet a prospective partner. I own a property in the area, so I am reluctant to move elsewhere within in New Zealand.

I have had some luck with dating apps such as Tinder and Bumble; but it seems as though a lot of people on those dating platforms have ulterior motives to long-term dating. I’d much rather meet a woman that I could see myself settling-down and building a future with.
