I am looking for someone that can spend time in person doing more low-key things that can help combine socializing and relaxing WHO IS NOT ALLERGIC TO CATS and between the ages of 33 and 45.

Examples:

We read the same book and meet up weekly to discuss.

Find a record we both haven’t listened to and listen to it together start to finish.

Cook a dish we haven’t made before.

Play board games (just the 2 of us or in a group)!

Spend the day hiking and have a picnic.

Have a pet play date. (I have an abnormally social and tolerant cat).

Do plant maintenance together.

Watch a series together (in person or separate) start to finish.

Find the best __________ restaurant in the area.

Workout together and can share/support fitness goals.

I would prefer us to just get along and be able to be ourselves with one another. Huge emphasis on the spending time in person together, so if you live outside of the DMV area- this probably isn’t ideal. Looking for someone who can communicate regularly and be able to say they need time away (whether you’re traveling, feel overwhelmed, don’t want social activity) or even support! Means a lot to me to be able to spend quality time together without having to go out to eat or drink.

Through a lot of recent and lifelong goals starting/ending, I have realized I want to find my person and I feel ready to do that. I am also ready to make friends with healthy boundaries (like not doing anything sexual and being beyond acquaintances). So this post is casting my net out into the wild to say that I (for once in my adult life) will be here geographically for a long while.

I am short and HWP. I have a good job, place to live on my own, a kitten, and transportation. I am getting back into more arts and crafts stuff like crochet and digital art for textile printing. I have plans to start wood burning as well as get into some mixed media projects. I have quite a few tattoos already and have a lot of plans for coverups as well as new ones. I have a decent amount of plants. Cooking is my passion, but hiking and fitness mean a lot to me as well. I’m currently watching the newest season of Fargo.

Why I feel like I am finally ready is that I recently hit an education and work milestone that really made me realize how far I’ve come on an individual level. Not going to lie, I had a non-traditional upbringing which resulted in a pretty messed up family situation where I have been basically alone on this side of the country unless I go visit. I went through trauma both psychologically and physically that basically made me dependent on a lot of things just to get by. Mental health became extremely important to me so I prioritized my overall health and went through various therapies to become the strong and independence person today. I’m finally confident and much more secure in every area of my life. I value putting effort into my appearance for myself and strive to be intentional in how I treat myself and others. I am a nurturer and people pleaser, but I have some awkwardness that makes flirting and intimacy a challenge for me at times. I am patient and laid back, but noticed living on the east coast after growing up on the west has really taken a toll on those qualities especially when I drive. Which is why I am aiming to remedy that and put effort into finding similar people who have purpose and can enjoy life as a part of the world vs a world that everyone else just happens to be in.

I certainly have my faults and am not looking for anyone perfect, but do have standards. I’m NOT looking to be added to an ENM relationship, a FWB, for someone who hasn’t finalized their divorce/separation, using any illegal substances, has a criminal history, is super political/religious (and expecting me to agree with them on every level), or has a porn addiction.
