CHANGE MY MIND: Being a DIVORCED MILLENIAL makes female friendships hard :(

Obnoxiously important things to keep in mind below.

I love black tea. Any and all other teas are inferior. Jujutsu Kaisen is the best anime out right now, especially because characters die and stay dead. I am vehemently opposed to the occupation of Palestine and believe the current war did not start October 7th but from the formation of the Israel state in 1948 (can you imagine if we were discussing the displacement and ethnic cleansing of Indigenous Ugandans today if Israel was actually there instead of Palestine...iykyk). I am also vehemently socially conservative and fiscally leaning that way too. If you see my two previous statements as dichotomous then we probably won't get along. Or at best have very charged debates.

I believe my penchant for historical romance books/shows ruined men for me and I am specifying historical romance for a reason. There is probably a study to be done about the general perceived perfection of leading men in historical romances but if they were real they would be an evil, colonialist hell-bent on either murdering me or violently programming me into their cultural hegemony. Cognitive dissonance is scary. This is a good point to mention that I believe Islam is the perfect religion to solve all of modern day societal ills. Even though I am a child of immigrants, I believe current immigration policies have created problems in the Western world and that issues like foreign students abusing the food bank system would NEVER happen back in the 70s and 80s. BUT, I also think immigration is also a form of karmic reparations due to colonialism and imperialism. If you see the above statements as dichotomous then we probably won't get along. Or at best have very charged debates.

Finally, I do have the dearest of friends. They just are in a very different phase of life than me. Not out of my own choosing, I just want a friend who will check me unabashedly when I am being a witch, watch each and every one of recommendations that I will harass them to watch, be a hijabi accountability partner (it is a struggle ngl), and also understand my world perspective, even if it seems very oxymoronic. Because practicing Muslimas get my perspective. And some non-Muslim women too, as I do have non-Muslim friends but I may have been incendiary on purpose in order to filter out people who probably would be surprised by my opinions. The world is a lonely place for women like me. Apparently, the way I look means I must have a certain set of values and beliefs. Identity politics and all of that. Which I also abhor by the way.

So, future friend and sister, hopefully, we can share upcoming Black Friday deals that don’t get in the way of the BDS movement (iykyk) and also talk about House of Villains. Cause best show nobody is watching and all of that. Points if you are aware of Scandoval and have OPINIONS.
