A little about me & what I'm looking for: bisexual woman in the southern United States, single but not particularly interested in pursuing non-platonic relationships at this point in my life because, honestly, y'all, I'm just tired and I don't have the capacity.

But I wouldn't mind at all having a casual friend I could chat with, particularly when I can't sleep - like I'm open to talking during the day too but my peak chattiness non work hours are like, 8pm-2am eastern time. And generally most of my friends want to go to bed during that time so I could use some virtual company! I don't care where you're located, if those hours are also good for you at least some of the time, then great! I don't mind starting out exchanging a few chat messages but what I really want to is to not take too long to move to phone calls/voice chat, or even video chat if we've established the relationship a little more. I also like a late night chat accompanied by a few glasses of wine sometimes so if alcohol consumption bothers you I may not be the chat friend for you.

Now, onto the more interesting details, the things you might want to talk to me about....I work as a labor union organizer, formerly worked in a public school and now I am organizing my public school staff union full time. Very into politics, both US politics and also world affairs and international relations. (Controversial opinion of the moment: in the IDF vs Hamas conflict, there really are no "good guys," other than innocent civilians, and if that statement enrages you, I am probably not the right person for you.) Big fan of my adorable sweet dogs and if you don't mind exchanging dog pics and cute dog stories that would be great too lol. I have a degree in international politics and history. Politically I'm pretty far left and really value discussions about "woke" (even though I don't love that word lol) issues around equity, social justice, anti-racism, feminism, queer liberation, etc. But I'm def not always on a serious rant about politics and injustice in our society - I also enjoy talking about daily life, pop culture, whacky family stories, etc.

Other hobbies include reading (and not in a necessarily super deep intellection way - queer rom coms have been my favorite books lately, I'm super stressed by life and work and love the escapism), travel (just got back from 3 weeks in Germany, Denmark, and Sweden, and used to live in Germany for 3 years), playing Civilization VI (and literally no other computer games, I'm just obsessed with this one), dabbling in some very bad amateur art and creative writing, and the normal types of consumption of mass media (tv series, movies, music, etc).

We don't have to agree on everything or share every interest, but at the end of the day, I am fat, queer, disabled, atheist, feminist, leftist, and if you think there's something inherently wrong with any of those facets of who I am, we will not be a good match.
