This is going to be a really strange post. I just hope that maybe someone relates. I promise if you read he whole thing there’s a personal ad at the end.
I’m so frustrated with dating apps and this platform that I’m honestly not sure if this is a personal ad or just a rant at this point. I figure I’ll have to tweak this 10 or 12 times before it doesn’t get auto banned by the mods.
Ugh, oh where to begin.
I’m genuinely a VERY loving hopeless romantic with a lot to offer a potential partner. Yes I’ve got some red flags but who doesn’t. I’d just like an honest chance to let a real person on the other end of the conversation be the judge for themselves.
I live in a small town in the midwest so I’m somewhat curse by geography. And I can’t relocate.
I’ve raised three kids on my own and would like to be done with that part of my life now that they are grown. So while not a deal breaker I’d prefer to not have any more kids.
I think my biggest frustration with dating apps and this platform is the scammers. OMG so many profiles on dating apps just want you to send them money or buy their content. Quick side note, I have NO issue with content providers. I’ve actually worked in a closely related industry. I’d actually love to date an OF girl. No issues at all. But I’m on a dating app, I want to date you, not pay you.
On here most of the scammers seem to revolved around crypto. But sometime in the recent past I started running into something different. For the past, idk, six months, 90 % of the people I connect with are just completely fake. They’re just lonely people that create a fake story so they have someone to talk to. There doesn’t seem to be any point or scam really. So I waste days of my time and end up putting my picture out there that they might be using in other fake conversations. Not to mention the frustration of thinking I’m talking to a potential partner and being repeatedly disappointed. And when I say 90 %, it’s honestly probably close to 99%. Yes, 99 out of 100 people.
So what am I supposed to do? Have a zero tolerance policy and require a verification photo and hope the person on the other end has had similar experiences and understands? And with AI I’ve got to be really specific on a verification photo. And while I don’t mind doing the same in return I don’t think women have near the problem on here with fake profiles that men do.
I’m starting to feel less like a hopeless romantic and more like a glutton for punishment. Because I keep coming back for more.
Ok I’m done ranting, now here comes the actual personal ad I promise. lol
I don’t really like to get into too much detail about me or what I’m looking for. I have a VERY flexible personality and when it comes to what I’m looking for there are very few absolutes. Just preferences. So here’s some basics.
About me:

• 50 but not your typical 50. You’re just going to have to get to know me to understand.
  Hopeless romanic, extremely loving, affectionate, caring, protective… I could go on.
  Love nature & animals, lots of pets.
• Prefers spring and fall to summer.
• Much less cranky in real life than the first half of this post makes me seem. I promise.
• Sadly, not hot like George Clooney or Brad Pitt. I’m 6’2” 365 lbs. And I’ll never be skinny but some how I’ve been slowly losing weight for the past year or two. So while I’m not TLC tv special fat, I’m a big guy. I keep hearing rumors out women out there that like big guys, where you at ladies? lol Happy to trade pics but after the first half of this post hopefully you realize I’m going to ask for a verification pic first. :)

About my potential partner:

• Just be honest, open and loyal. I have a really flexible personality and I really don’t want to put too my preferences here. Just talk to me and see where it goes. And please take an active role in that process. Ask questions, get to know me. I often feel like I’m having to lead by sides of the conversation.
• Unless you have the means to hop on a plane and come visit then I would also strongly prefer you be in the US. Too many issues getting to know someone that’s to far out of the Central time zone and lets face it, it’s not easy getting into this country any more.
• I do have one other fairly strong preference I’d like to express. I’d really prefer someone that knows what they want and isn’t tied down. I know what I want and I’m tired of waiting. I don’t want to spend a year chatting before we meet. Lets chat for a week or two. Then move up to video calls for a few weeks, then lets meet and see how we vibe in person. I’ve already started above that I can’t relocate. I’ve got a lot of obligations keeping me here. If you’re not open to relocating in less than a year then don’t waste my time. I know that sounds mean and I’m sorry. I really don’t mean it to be. I guess this one thing is probably the most difficult detail of what I’m looking for.
