I follow headlines enough to stay informed and vote accordingly, beyond that I’m looking for someone to vibe with and forget just how poorly so many things are going. There’s still so much natural beauty to enjoy and good times to be had!

Hi, I’m Nick - thanks for taking the time from your day to read my incredibly long post (you’ve been warned!). I’m basically free-writing this so it MAY fray a bit at the edges, but I figure even little tangents should offer insight into my personality so I'm gonna take FULL advantage of the lack of a character limit.

I'm 6’0”, 200lbs, and have plenty of pics from within the last year (was going to attach to my post but doesn’t seem to be an option). Two kids; 22f and 17m so am dealing with the existential crisis that is a rapidly approaching empty nest (this June!!!). I dig kids; being dad is the one thing I’ve unequivocally gotten right in my life, so it’s cool if you have them as well. I do NOT want any more, and if yours are younger than tween age the odds are strongly against us; like I NEVER say never but the connection would have to be sublime.

It’s been a summer of firsts for me; first time hitting the ocean, first time kayaking, first time tubing down a river. ALL were amazing events I’ll be looking to do many times over again. My next bucket list type trip is the Rockies in peak blizzard season; but NOT to ski and I want to share the experience with someone special….get a sick suite with a fireplace, hot tub and gnarly view and just VIBE. (With some daytime exploration and non-skiing activities.) Maybe the hotel from The Shining if they have that type of suite, I AM a huge King fan.

Hmmm soooo hobbies…I love to read fiction; mostly sci-fi, fantasy and horror. Examples include The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, GRRM’s life’s work (WHERE are the damn pages GEORGE? *sigh*), The Sandman Slim books by Richard Kadrey, the “Prey” books by John Sandford, etc. I have a shelf full of Stephen King. Since reading is a “lazier” hobby, on chill days I also dig binging a good series (with someone special is vastly superior!) or playing video games. (My Reddit username is also my Xbox gamertag because branding or something idk lol.) I am also a VERY strong home cook; specialties include Mexican food, soups, mac n cheese, homemade pizzas, and much more. I’ve done entire Thanksgiving meals including desserts and cooked a Mexican feast for my daughter’s grad party as well.

Foooooodddd is good, right? If you answered “no” please exit stage left. ;) I love trying new restaurants, discovered sushi maybe 8 years ago and am hooked. There is also a SICKKK tapas place like 30 mins from my house that I’m always looking for excuses to hit lol. I love fishing, exploring state parks and try to walk at least a couple miles a day. Gardening is amazing but alas I’m unable presently as a renter. Being from Wisco I enjoy a good cocktail but I’d say less than the average Wisconsinite, and enjoy all “bar games” even if my skill level is wildly variable. I’m 420 friendly, and would LOVE having a copilot for trips to the U.P. (it’s a beautiful drive!). I’m game to try new things so long as they’re not heights-related, sorry skydivers haha….I’ll wait on the ground and cheer for ya though! I should add I’m locked into staying in-state, though once my son graduates in spring I am open to moving and will discuss options with my partner. (I won’t bother moving until it’s to live with someone, though please don’t read that wrong…there will be NO rushing into that step whatsoever. I just hate moving so wanna minimize the efforts and where I’m at is adequate until that APPROPRIATE time.)

I don’t have a “type”...like obvi physical attraction must exist but for me it comes in myriad forms. 420 friendly would be preferred but is not a necessity so long as you’re ok with my usage. I’m a lowkey, no pressure kinda cat…trend old-fashioned when it comes to dating (almost went with “courting” for that old-fashioned cred lolllll). What I’m looking for can’t be forced and that’s not my style anyway. I will also do whatever you need to feel safe when meeting; such as giving my full name for any searches, meeting somewhere public, etc. It’s easy AF for a guy to be full steam ahead in terms of meeting, but I realize it’s a crazy ass time for single ladies and want you to be at ease when we do meet.

Think I’m finally running out of fuel haha. I’m so damn weary of swipe culture and all that comes with it; the ghosts, the flakes, the catfish, etc. I just wanna find my person but am unwilling to force a vibe that isn’t there. I’m kind, funny/witty, empathetic, sweet, strong, loving, smart(ish) lol. I want ALL of the good times, the big eventful adventures and lazy days together. I also want to be someone’s rock, who they can depend on when they’re down…the type who’ll make you homemade chicken noodle when you’re sick. Bonus points if you crave all of the relationship minutiae; the inside jokes, knowing each others’ thoughts with a glance, silly pet names, a booty slap when you pick something up near me, etc. There’s a magic in all of that, which took the longest lonely period of my life to truly appreciate.
