I have had a pretty terrible year- I have lost three family members including a parent. Add to that, I have had a long standing chronic illness and am simply being shy/introverted; I want to do something to try to make connections with other people, so I guess I am trying Reddit.
About me: I am interested in politics since I was a child, I have as a strong leftist analysis (libertarian socialist /anarchist tendency) since I was a teen, my first t protest was in the in lead up to the Iraq War in the fall of 2002. I even studies political thought at the graduate level until I washed out due to the aforementioned chronic illness. I like baking bread and cooking. Tonight I made the bbq pulled-chicken Adam Ragusea (youtube chef) made last Thursday. Reading (mostlyScience Fiction and Fantasy). History (French Revolution, Haitian Revolution, the history of Algeria and French colonialism thereof, etc.). Sports most Americans don’t care about, mostly road cycling. And listening to movie podcasts about films I haven’t seen (Blank Check, This Had Oscar Buzz, Podcast like it’s, Unclear and Present Danger).
Who I am looking to connect with:
Similar ages, I am not going to put exact numbers but mid/late 20s – early 40s seems reasonable
If you’re not an outright leftist, at least having progressive politics
I am Trans-affirming, anti-racist, and anti-fatphobia please be the same.
I am mostly looking for online friends, at least at first. If there was mutual trust and consent, I would be open to meet ups or being flirty online. However, I am the guy who, back in 2004, listened to Sufjan Stevens’ Seven Swans for a year (with its song The Transfiguration which pretty clearly recounts a bible story) and didn’t realize the album had Christian themes. What I am saying is I can be the most oblivious person, so feel free to not be subtle when chatting me up.
